Hi WillNa,

Which version of Haxe do you use?

The described problem seems to be a communication break down with Haxe compiler.
FDT asks for each auto complection the Haxe compiler to give code hints.
Maybe the haxe compiler stops. I will test that.

If this happens again maybe you could open the task mgr to see if the haxe task is running and ask for much resources.

haxe.exe is using 40 to 60M but is halted (0% of CPU)

Using Haxe 3.0.0 32bits, onWindows 7

Hi WillNa,

try to kill the haxe process if the autocompletion hangs again.
After that FDT would restart the Haxe Process.

Maybe you could also attach the error log of FDT (.metadata/*.log) to this issue.
I want to verify that no exception has occurred.

Also you could activate the Haxe Debug Options and restart FDT.
Then each Haxe Process is listed in the process managment in the debug view and
a console shows the communication to the haxe processes. Maybe there is something shown
giving a hint what has happend before the freeze.

Hi,

These options are already activated.
And when FDT hangs, if I click 'Try to recover app" (or whatever it is in english!), if it succeed, I immediatly see all the "Parsed xxxx.hx" line
Note I desactived "Build automatically" so I don't understand the meaning of Haxe compilator's launching time to time.
So yes, I suspect this "parsing" process to hang autocompletion...

I also noticed a strange behavior to track down :
If autocompletion calls Haxe compiler, since my current code is broken (it's why I ask for code completion!), the compiler will return an error and won't finish...I wonder if, in that case, the haxe compiler just doesn' t return a valid value and so FDT waits endless

Third possible reason :
Like I said it often happens while typing quickly.
I suspect FDT to call Haxe compiler while I'm typing and so, when I need/ask autocompletion, Haxe compiler is already running...which hangs everything

It's only strange behaviors I noticed, I'm not sure they're the reason of the lock issue.
But, if it could help you to isolate the bug, I would be a fool to not write them down!

I'll try to kill haxe.exe next time to see what happens and let you know
